Classic novels to arrive on the Nintendo DS

Nintendo are said to be compiling a collection of 100 Classic Books for the addictive Nintendo DS - extending it from a handheld console to an e-Reader(?).

The collection of classic books is to be released in partnership with Harper Collins, and read by holding the DS ‘like a book’, using the two screens to act as the page.

The immediate advantage here for Nintendo is that they are able to deliver their books to an immediate audience, familiar with the Nintendo DS, almost to test the market and see how realistic it is to get people to read on a machine designed for handheld gaming.
