Braille e-Reader concept looks so touchable

Yesterday I popped along to the London Book Fair at Earls Court, with a particular interest in seeing the developments and how much presence there was within the digital publishing market.

One of the e-book related presentations discussed the challenges facing publishers and how to embrace technology to make reading easier and more accessible to the visually-impaired - who find reading standard print difficult or near impossible.

And I like what Seon-Keun Park, Byung-Min Woo, Sun-Hye Woo and Jin-Sun Park contributed at Yanko Design. A Braille e-Reader concept which dynamically changes the surface by using an electromagnetic charge to create the feel of braille text.

Whilst it doesn’t seem like a revolutionary ground-breaking idea, it’s refreshing to come across this concept, when all too often when we talk and mention e-Readers, we take it for granted that there is still a visually-impaired audience of readers who enjoy books as much as everyone else.
