[Date for the diary] World Book Day

For all you book lovers out there don’t forget that World Book Day is just around the corner on Thurs 5th March 2009, so jot this down in your diary and use this opportunity to celebrate your passion within the pages; get reading, writing, publishing and promoting. Did you know that W.B.D originates from Catalonia,where roses and books were given as gifts to loved ones on St. George’s Day? Not only is it celebrated in the UK and Ireland but is marked in over 100 countries worldwide.

The aim is to encourage children to explore the pleasures of books and reading by providing them with the opportunity to have a book of their own, so for one day, replace their computer, wii, barbie or crazy bones with a book and get involved. Everyone else is doing it.
